Casino killing local Fire Departments

With the opening of the Meadows Casino as well as all the other Casino's across the State and the no smoking ban, our weekly Bingo which is our major fund raiser to keep our Station operating as well as many other Fire Departments Bingo's in the State has taken serious hits as money made at our Bingo needed to operate the Fire Department is down over 80% making it a huge challenge to survive. This has taken the heart out of many firemen who work basically another full time non paying job trying to raise money to keep the Fire Departments operating.  I sure hope that the State of Pennsylvania has a plan to keep Volunteer Fire Companies operating as this hit is to the point where Fire Departments will soon be closing their doors or suspending and doing away with services that where a normal part of Fire Department Operations that our residents counted on thoughout the years!  This is something State Government  knew was going to happen through fact findings from other States that legalized gambling!  Sure, with the Casino's, its helping the State with their budget but hurting the Local Fire Departments and ultimately the residents of the State of Pennsylvania.
